FABRIC SELECTION:
Choose 22 fabrics, ¼ yard each, as follows:
3 different yellow greens (YG)
2 different yellow oranges (YO)
2 different red violets (RV)
3 different red oranges (RO)
3 different blue violets (BV)
3 different blue greens (BG)
6 different blacks (that read dark, not medium)
BATTING: 50" x 50"
BACKING: 3 yards
BINDING: ½ yard medium blue
SUPPLIES:
Sewing machine in good working
order.
Sewing supplies you regularly use
such as thread, straight pins,
scissors, seam ripper, etc.
Rotary cutting equipment: mat (18"
x 24"), ruler (6" x 24"), and cutter with a sharp blade.
6" square ruler. This is
important.
CUTTING:
Cut 1 strip each, 2½” x 42”, from each of the fabrics except the
black fabrics.
Cut 2 strips, 2½” x 42” from 4 of the black fabrics.
Cut 3 strips, 2½” x 42”, from 2 of the black fabrics.
Then cut:
4 squares, 2½” x 2½” and 1 rectangle, 2½” x 10 ½” from each of the
following: 2 different YGs, 2 different BGs, 1 YO, 1 BV, 1 RO, and
1 RV fabrics.
12 squares, 2½” x 2½” from 1 YG (different from the 2 above), 1 BG
(different from the 2 above), 1 YO (different from the 1 above), 2
BV (different from the 1 above), 2 RO (different from the 1 above),
and 1 RV (different from the 1 above) fabrics.
8 rectangles, 2½” x 4½” and 1 rectangle, 2½” x 10½” from each of the
4 black fabrics.
16 rectangles, 2½” x 4½”, and 2 rectangles, 2½” x 10½”, from 2 of
the black fabrics. |
