¼ yard each of 4 cheddar fabrics (cheddar is yellow orange, but more
yellow than orange)
¼ yard each of 4 red and/or red-orange fabrics
½ yard each of 4 red and/or red-orange fabrics
1/8 yard of 1 dark brown fabric
¼ yard of 1 medium dark red or red-orange fabric
½ yard of 1 light tan/beige fabric (background for Flying Geese)
½ yard dark red fabric
BACKING: 3 yards
BATTING: 50" x 50”
BINDING: ½ yard
SUPPLIES:
Sewing machine in good working order.
Sewing supplies you regularly use such as thread, straight pins,
scissors, seam ripper, etc.
Rotary cutting equipment: mat (18" x 24"), ruler (6" x 24"), and
cutter with a sharp blade.
6" square ruler. This is important.
CUTTING
Note that the center is labeled #1 and the borders are labeled #2
through #6.
From each of the 4 cheddar fabrics and each of the 4 red fabrics,
cut 1 square, 6" x 6" (#1)
From 1 cheddar fabric, cut 4 squares, 2½" x 2½" (#2)
From a different cheddar fabric, cut 4 squares, 3½" x 3½" (#3)
From a different cheddar fabric, cut 8 squares, 3½" x 3½" (#4)
From the brown fabric, cut 4 rectangles, 2½" x 10½" (#2) and 8
squares, 3½" x 3½" (#4)
From the medium dark red fabric, cut 4 rectangles, 3½" x 14½" (#3)
From the tan/beige fabric, cut 64 squares, 3" x 3" (#4)
From each of 4 red/red-orange fabrics, cut 8 rectangles, 3" x 5½"
(total 32 rectangles) (#4)
From the dark red fabric, cut 4 rectangles, 3" x 30½" (#5)
From 1 red or red-orange fabric, cut 4 squares, 3" x 3" (#5)
From each of 8 red or red-orange fabrics, cut 4 squares, 5½" x 5½"
